Two Ways to Organize Your Anxious Mind
“Anxiety” is a word constantly being used to describe any stressful event: an upcoming exam, a move, or maybe even waiting for a crush to text you back? However, when anxiety begins to consume every aspect of your daily life, this will increase your emotional and physical responses to all of your daily tasks. By organizing your anxious mind, you will be able to push back against the chaos and laugh in the face of your anxiety. Here are two of the most effective ways to organize your anxious mind.
Make a To-Do List
No matter the task, it is important to create a detailed to-do list. This is a great system for visual learners, those who like to see all of their tasks, their importance, and their deadlines laid out in front of them. Depending on your deadlines, you can decide if a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly to-do-list is best suited for what you want to accomplish. Structure your to-do list by using different categories – most urgent tasks, unfinished tasks, and upcoming tasks.
Priorities, Priorities, Priorities!
When you can no longer put the tasks on the backburner and you have to push full-throttle to accomplish them, set your priorities straight! Be realistic with yourself, you have 24 hours in a day factor in your sleeping schedule, your eating schedule, and bathroom breaks and the rest is fair game to determine what you can get done. Set out a completion time for each task and once you repeat this process, you’ll become a pro!
Although your to-do list might be long and seem tedious, be mindful that you can only complete one task at a time. Break up your task into multiple hours or days if you have afforded to do so, this is why starting early can save you from unnecessary headaches.
Organize Your Anxious Mind, It Works
Creating a to-do list is a results-driven process. Writing out deadlines and the importance of tasks is a simple and easy way to help your mind focus on determining what you need to accomplish, organizing your tasks, and getting the job done. This process is efficient and will give you the ability to take control of your thoughts. Trust me, there is no better feeling than crossing out everything on that list!
